1. October 2021 - 12:29

The government established an exception from the obligation of self-isolation for the creative staff participating in the international theatre festival Golden Mask in Estonia 2021. The theatre festival is planned for 5–26 October in Tallinn, Narva, and Kohtla-Järve. The organisers of the festival have cooperated fully with the Health Board to mitigate the risks of infection.

Stenbock House, 30 September 2021 – The government established an exception regarding the obligation of self-isolation for the creative staff participating in the international theatre festival Golden Mask in Estonia 2021. The theatre festival is planned for 5–26 October in Tallinn, Narva, and Kohtla-Järve. The organisers of the festival have cooperated fully with the Health Board to mitigate the risks of infection.

By way of exception, a performer of the festival or a person participating in the organisation of a performance who has not been vaccinated against or who has not recovered from COVID-19 but has been in close contact with an infected person may continue to perform at the festival if their test results are negative.

The exception is necessary because the theatre festival Golden Mask in Estonia is an internationally recognised and sectorally important event and a cultural diplomatic event with a long tradition. Within the framework of the festival, five theatres from Russia will come to Estonia: Satirikon, Bolshoi Theatre, the State Theatre of Nations, Karlsson Haus, and Sovremennik.

Due to the restrictions related to the coronavirus, the festival could not take place last year.
