Who is subject to restrictions: tables of countries

Different restrictions are applied after travelling depending on the risk level of the country from which you arrive, and this risk level is assessed on the basis of the infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

Current restrictions

In order to avoid the spread of the virus and getting infected, to protect the life and health of the people and to ensure the functioning of the society, it is necessary to follow the enacted restrictions and guidelines.

The meters of risk level

The main meters are the number on people infected with COVID-19 and the number of people hospitalised. The Government reviews the risk level once a week.

Member states of the European Union and the Schengen area, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican

Starting from February 7, 2022, the requirements in the table apply to everyone 12 years old and older.

Information compiled on the basis of officcial ECDC data. The list is udated every Friday and takes effect form the following Monday. The ratio of testing is presented in the form "daily average of X per 100 000 people during the 14-day period".

Remaining in isolation is not compulsory for 12-18 year olds that are travelling with a vaccinated/recovered parent or legal representative and present a certificate of a negative PCR test done up to 72h before arriving in Estonia or a negative antigen-RTD test done up to 24h before arriving in Estonia. The test can also be done immediately after arriving in Estonia, in that case it is obligatory to stay in isolation until the negative result comes in.

The border crossing restrictions enacted to stop the spread of COVID, including the obligation to present a COVID certificate, do not apply to Ukrainian citizens and their direct descendants (children, grandchildren) and ascendants (parents, grandparents).
